Great place to bring a date. Food was good.
Food is excellent, always well prepared. Atmosphere is cozy but not stuffy. Great for a special occasion, business dinner.
MoreIt's a nice place to take someone for a night out. It was kind of quiet because we came on a Sunday night but our server was very helpful and attentive to us about what he would recommend on the menu. I ended up settling on the veal parm (which by the way I was warned about it being a huge portion (see photo) and most people take most of it home, challenge accepted!) and my wife ordered the salmon, a more reasonable portion. The bread with olive oil was nice and warm can't ask more than that. The veal parm was delicious and seasoning was on point, however it was a little dry. My wife's salmon with mash potatoes and steamed broccoli was pretty bland, definitely needed salt and pepper to help it. Drinks were good. Needless to say I didn't finish the veal parm, I had to take it to go.
MoreSoooo yummy! Very rich, so you may not have room for dessert, but all delicious.
The food here was pretty good and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful!
Great food, they missed the mark on my dish and dessert; the quattro formaggi wasn't al dente and creme brulee was cold, however, prices and flavors were great and the atmosphere worth the experience.
MoreI really hate dining at 'expensive fancy places' and was nervous going to Zaza's because of this. But actually here was not too bad. The menu is pricey by my standards ($16 and up for entrees, $8 salads), but the 3 of us actually enjoyed our meals. We all ordered standard Italian items (chicken parm, eggplant parm, mixed seafood in pasta) and portion sizes were large - no one finished. It was quite empty on father's day between 6 pm and 7 pm (~25 people dining?) and the noise levels were low. I have to dock 1 star because service was a little slow despite being so empty.
MoreService was great. Food was fantastic!! The Strip steak and Duck was soo good! We even tipped the kitchen staff because we were so blown away! One of our favorite restaurants! ♥️
MoreA must try in Ithaca.. Nice food and very good service
A solid restaurant for years specializing in fresh pasta and a nice selection of specialties. The place has white tablecloths but everyone seems to be welcome including shorts and flip-flops. Attentive staff.
MoreWe were there for a holiday party. The food was fantastic!
The food was excellent. I had the lobster ravioli which was extremely delicious.
Food was good. Friendly staff, fast service
Very good food reasonably, not cheap, priced. Definitely upscale. Service was very good. Don't be in a hurry. Very relaxed atmosphere.
MoreLovely restaurant! Second time there. Just as exquisite this time as before. Beautiful setting, wonderful atmosphere, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Food came quickly, cooked perfectly and delicious!
MoreNot much I can say other than EXCELLENT! The waitress was phenomenal and made sure we were constantly tended to, the food was AMAZING! I ordered the Seafood Risotto, which turned out to be absolutely phenomenal. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a fancy date night. :)
MoreDuring our first time dining at Za Zas we were extremely happy. We will most certainly visit there again soon. The food was absolutely delicious. The chef there is a treasure. Our server was Devan whom of which was fabulous and so accommodating. We were greeted by a lovely hostess named Shay who brought us to a lovely table. From the food to the atmosphere to the great service, I can’t wait to enjoy that beautiful place again! AAA+++
MoreZaza's is great for a special dinner or just in general. The New Zealand lamb rack is always my go to entree and it is always cooked to perfection. If you order medium, it comes out medium, if you order rare, it comes out rare, etc. The kitchen really knows what they are doing. The desserts are always top notch and the service is great. Everyone is always so nice and helpful and make you feel at home.
MoreMy gnocchi was very sticky, tho soft.My friends dishes were very heavy on the oil; lift the plate and you see a layer of clear oil flowing around the plate. The dessert options were very not thoughtful - boring selection and underwhelming delivery.Appetizer was the only not bad part (I got brussel sprouts).
MoreService was great, the waitress was friendly and very accommodating. Food was good too!
MoreI always get veal parm when we eat at an Italian restaurant. This was one of the best I have had in a very long while. I could cut it with the butter knife they provided. The spaghetti served with it was a nice consistency, somewhere between regular spaghetti (that is usually served at other places) and angel hair. You can see how large of a piece they served! Our waiter was great and he removed our leftovers from the table and packed them up for us. There was a talented guy playing some great instrumental music while we ate. This was our first time eating here. It was Valentine's Day and many people tended to be a little dressed up. Our impression based on the ambiance, the menu, the prices, etc., is that this is one of the more upscale restaurants in Ithaca. We truly enjoyed our evening.
MoreMiddle of the road Italian, not great, not bad. Prices high, everyyhing is extra. 5 people over $200. There just doesn't appear to be great Italian cooking in Ithaca.
MoreGreat food selections, great portions, and excellent tastes. Must visit if visiting Ithaca. We has 18 people for dinner and all great dishes. Our Server was famtastic also A+
MoreGreat apps. Awesome old fashion drinks. The gnocchi with beef short ribs is amazing
MoreThe food is wonderful; a great balance of originality and familiarity. My wife and ate here for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. My steak was cooked perfectly and the beet salad was amazing. Her Florentine was decadent! The service was prompt and friendly as well. Tony R's used to be our special place, but Zaza's has become our new favorite!
MoreWarm cosy place where everyone is welcome. Food is delicious. They make their own bread which is served with olive oil infused with herbs. The mussels were out of this world, I couldn't resist dunking my bread into the broth left from the mussels, and had to all for another basket of bread, lol. Tomato and basil sauce that came with the calamari would make your grandma ask for a recipe! The prosciutto-wrapped dates with a touch of gorgonzola- Mmmm so good. These are just the appetizers. Restaurant offers a nice wine and beer list, a bunch of different cocktails. The staff are very friendly people, there's an open kitchen, with flames bursting and food magic happening. and a decent size parking lot. Will definitely come back!
MoreMy fiancee and I went out to do a nice budget friendly date night while on vacation in Ithaca. We wanted a place that took reservations so there was zero hassle with finding a seat in the typically crowded food scene in Ithaca. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the ambiance and the beautiful decor. We were immediately helped to our seat and invites to check out their drink specials. Every drink I tried and my fiancee tried was delicious and very balanced. For the appetizer we had the bruschetta, which was spot on in terms of flavor profile balance and freshness. I ordered the duck breast which was perfectly prepared while my fiancee ordered the prime rib gnocchi. Both were absolutely amazing, and the portions were very generous. The food at Zaza is just mouthwatering.
MoreIt's a dining experience. As soon as you walk thur the door it begins, awesome service topped off with a great menu cooked to perfection. A must stop for fine dining..
MoreAmazing food and desserts! Best tiramisu...
The perfect place to dine. Service is always good. Food is amazing. It's not loud , so you can actually have conversation with the people at your table. Always a wonderful night out.
MoreClassy elegant place to dine. Great waitstaff and superb cuisine.
Decent meal, prices are too high
My wife had lobster ravioli and I had strip steak. Both delicious; steak perfectly medium rare and very tender. Special appetizer of smoked brie with peaches and arugula was wonderful. Great evening.
MoreA bit over priced for what they have, but they have very good drinks and appetizers. Nice set up good atmosphere as well. Very pretty place.
MoreService was five star. Food, not so much. Had Veal Parm and breading was too salty. Asked for pasta with no sauce but garlic and butter...too much garlic and I love garlic. Snow Cosmo on rocks perfect. Dark chocolate gelato very good. Roommate had lasagna and again sauce too salty. Bread cold. Dipping oil w/o pepper or cheese offered. Portions way too big. Calamari, OK but sauce and breading too salty. Surprising with all that salt, no pepper or salt on table. However, place was packed so our tastes must be in minority. Expensive for date night. Make reservations.
MoreZazas Cucina is a somewhat gooditalian restaurant. The food, especially the burrata caprese that i ordered looked, smelled, and tasted absolutely amazing. However, my main course, a 'home- made' spaghetti with basil pesto sauce was not very good. Simply put, the sauce tasted horrible, nothing like any pesto sauce. The restaurant has good parking and a large variety of wines and other alcoholic beverages. Will come again.
MoreMy wife and I spent our anniversary in Ithaca and dinner here was a great choice. We made a reservation online with anniversary as the occasion and they made it a little extra special for us. Dinner was amazing. Trust the chef and get the special.
MoreWow! On a road trip just happened upon this place. Authentic and delicious. So excited about leftovers today. Mine and my friends (she forgot her doggy bag at my house), can't wait. There are NO bad choices on their menu, and wait staff is excellent.
MoreDelicious, friendly service, and huge portions. We got the veal parm and lasagna, both wete great!
MoreWalking in I felt like we were interrupting. We are asked if we had reservations (2 on a Thursday) and were made feel like we should have. The drinks were delicious and unique. We started with bread and mussels, which were out of this world. I had pumpkin ravioli and my partner had spaghetti with smoked prosciutto meatballs. Both were awesome. The pumpkin filling was perfect. The meatballs were incredible, and the pasta was definitely homemade and fresh. We were stuffed! the bathroom, however was disgusting; I pray the kitchen doesn't look the same. The food was some of the best I've ever had, but the service left a lot to be desired. Please update the bathrooms!
Morefirst of all, the ambiance is so stunning. the space is so elegant and beautiful, you feel like you're participating in something beautiful just sitting in there. secondly, heck was the food good. I had the short rib and gnocchi and WOW. I out loud gasped after my first bite because it was so delicious. I had the coconut milk flan for dessert and that was also excellent. the service was a little slow, but everything else was so good that it didn't even bother me. amazing.
MoreWhile the food was tasty, management on the other hand would get zero stars if I could. Our son ordered plain pasta with cheese. The portion was so small that we asked if it was the appetizer. The check came and we were charged $20 for that pasta. I asked to speak to the manager. The owner was "too busy" to come to our table. The restaurant was far from full. The owner apparently asked our server to talk to the person at the bar, who took off $4. I still can't believe they think $16 is appropriate for an appetizer size portion on plain pasta with cheese. We paid and left. We will NEVER eat there again. I want to make sure no one else gets ripped off there too.
MoreAlways great food! Service sometimes hit or miss. Today's special, grilled romain with white anchovies. It was very delish. The burrata is always excellant and the calamari is served with marinara and aioli. Our entrees were delish but forgot to take picture. Their homemade gnocchi is the BEST! You can have it with braised short ribs or in a quattro formage. Love the food here!!!
MoreGood service, friendly staff, phenomenal fresh food, homemade pasta, and generous portions. Don't be fooled from the outside.
MoreStaff was fine. Food was OK. Ambiance in the restaurant is slightly odd (ceiling looks like the lid of a coffin). Wouldn't come back.
MoreVery yummy! I ordered the salmon and my bf had the NY strip steak! Prices were good and portions were big. Service was a bit slow...it took over 5 minutes for someone to even get us water or acknowledge we were there.
MoreFantastic restaurant. Great atmosphere, great staff and top notch delicious food. I started with the Burrata appetizer; soft, creamy and SO fresh. The mixed seafood in red sauce was incredible. I asked to substitute the pasta for gnocchi, and they made it like it was a long-time regular menu option, UNBELIEVABLY DELICIOUS!
MoreQuiet atmosphere, attentive servers, interesting and delicious food
Outstanding meal! Lobster ravioli and Braised short ribs in Chianti! BOOM! Great service from our waitress, Sean!
MoreGood food and service. Nice environment. Sound absorbing ceiling dampens the noise from patrons. Italian opera background music was quiet. Prices were competitive.
